Mr. Pearl Glenn White Obituary

Mr. Pearl Glenn White, age 70 of Manchester, passed away Sunday, November 8th, 2009 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born October 8th, 1939 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Frank & Lydia Valentine White. He was a retired coal operator; he served in the Army National Guard & was affiliated with the Horse Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Cassie White, his son: John Glenn White of Manchester, his daughter: Donna J. White of Manchester, his son-in-law: Mitchell Sizemore, his mother-in-law: Myrtle Gibbs, 3 sisters: Mary Standifer of Manchester, Louise Marcum of Atlanta, Georgia, & Alma Brumley of Manchester. Also surviving are several special nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Frank & Lydia White, his brothers: Bryan White & Benjamin White, & his sister: Verda Harris.

Funeral Services for Mr. Pearl Glenn White will be Thursday, November 12th, 2009 at 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Anthony Lovett & Rev. Wayne House will be officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery in Manchester, Kentucky.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 11th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Shelby Rawlings Obituary

Mr. Shelby Rawlings, age 72 of Manchester, passed away Saturday, November 14th, 2009 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born March 9th, 1937 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Herbert & Anna Wolfe Rawlings. He worked in construction building roads.

He is survived by his daughter: Patricia Dianne Rawlings of Manchester, 1 grandson: Jason Rawlings, his sister: Beulah Maxie of Manchester, these special friends: J. L. Bray, Sherman Price, & Ralph Harris, Jr., & the following special nieces & nephew: Jeannie White, Lisa Rawlings, & Eugene Maxie. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, & other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Herbert & Anna Rawlings, his sons: Raleigh Gene Rawlings & Shelby Lynn Rawlings, & three brothers: Gilford Rawlings, Hansford Rawlings, & Charles Rawlings.

Funeral Services for Mr. Shelby Rawlings will be Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jack Neighbors will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in the Burning Springs Community.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 17th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Gertha Clark, age 97 of Town Branch Road in Manchester passed away Saturday, November 21st, 2009 at her home. She was born March 9th, 1912 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Carlo & Elizabeth Pennington Lyttle. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church.

She is survived by her daughter: Anna Lee Clark of Town Branch Road, and a host of nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Carlo & Elizabeth Lyttle, her sister: Josephine Boston, & these brothers: Robert Lyttle, Elijah Lyttle, Jimmie Lyttle, Lee Lyttle, Toleman Gibson, & John Henry Clark.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Gertha Clark will be Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Avis Thompson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Clark Cemetery in Manchester.

Visitation for Mrs. Gertha Clark will be Tuesday, November 24th, after 11:30 A. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Lela Hibbard, age 86 of Independence, Kentucky formerly of Clay County, passed away Thursday, November 26th, 2009 at the Hillenbrand Nursing Home in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born December 11th, 1922 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Moten & Allie Abner Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gray Fork Baptist Church.

She is survived by the following children: Phylis Marcum of Hamilton, Ohio, Otis Hibbard of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ora Lee Marcum of Hamilton, Ohio, David Hibbard of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Hibbard of Manchester, Kentucky, & Debbie Maggard of Independence, Kentucky. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, & 4 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Moten and Allie Smith, her husband: Cecil Hibbard, her daughter: Donna Gail Hibbard, and these brothers and sisters: Virgil Smith, Lois Proffit, Moten Smith, Jr., & Dollie Rowland, and her step-mother: Edna Mae Smith.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lela Hibbard will be Sunday, November 29th, 2009 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Anthony Lovett will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hibbard Cemetery in the Ephram Creek Community.

Hazel Proffitt, age 87 of Laurel, Indiana passed away Friday, November 27th, 2009 at the Sycamore Springs Rehabilitation Center in Liberty, Indiana. She was born September 20th, 1922 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Willie and Ella Hounchell Deaton.

She is survived by the following children: Gerry Ladd of Laurel, Indiana, Daniel Proffitt of Brookville, Indiana, Penny Bellamy of Connersville, Indiana, Greg Proffitt of Laurel, Indiana, & Kathy Corbin of Connersville, Indiana. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, her brother: Jennings Deaton of Manchester, & her sister: Helen Gross of Manchester.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Willie and Ella Deaton, her husband: Ray Proffitt, her son: Gene Proffitt, and these brothers & sisters: Ray Deaton, Pearl Deaton, Evelyn Robinson, Dorothy Nicholson, Beatrice Bowling, and Reffie Fields.

Funeral Services for Hazel Proffitt will be Monday, November 30th, 2009 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joey Burns and Rev. Scott Emond will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hacker Cemetery in the Gray Fork Community.

Visitation will be Monday after 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Chester Arthur Hacker, age 97, passed away Monday, November 30th, 2009 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. He was born January 10th, 1912 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Dan and Sarah Ellen Barrett Hacker. He was a foreman for the Kentucky Department of Highways and a member of the Church of God Worship Center.

He is survived by these children: Paul R. Hacker and wife Lillie of Somerset, Jacqueline Hacker Hobbs and husband Don of Williamsburg, and Barkley Hacker and wife Connie of Manchester. Also surviving are a host of grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Dan and Sarah Ellen Hacker, his wife: Helen Cobb Hacker, his son: Wayne D. Hacker, & these brothers and sisters: Bill “Crow” Hacker, James Pearl Hacker, Henry Hacker, Herbert Hacker, Harvey Hacker, Joe Hacker, Frank Hacker, Mary Hacker Robinson, and Elsie Hacker.

Funeral Services for Mr. Chester Arthur Hacker will be Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joey Burns will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Carnahan Cemetery in the Greenbriar Community.
