Asking God for Laborers for West Virginia’s Diverse Mission Field West Virginia Few U.S. states boast a diverse socio-economic makeup quite like West Virginia. From depressed former coal-mining towns to the growing suburbs of Washington D.C., West Virginia has everything. That’s the mission field to which the Lord has led DANNY RUMPLE. As the state director of missions in West Virginia, Danny is helping to start new churches in the state. Your financial generosity expressed through the Cooperative Program helps Danny discover, develop and deploy church planters to all parts of West Virginia. Pray Jesus’ prayer in Luke 10:2 for Southern Baptists in West Virginia. Ask God to call more laborers to the West Virginia mission field. The preceding "Missionary Moment" was made possible by gifts to the Southern Baptist Association Cooperative Program, which is supported by several Clay County churches who are members of the Booneville Baptist Association which consists of 25 churches in Clay and Owsley counties which are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Kentucky Baptist Convention. A Great Gift of Friendship [Central Asia] Before IMB missionaries JUDE and LEANNE* moved overseas, they asked the Father for friends for their boys, DAVIS and LANDRY. When they settled in Central Asia, they all went to a play- ground on an icy February day. There they met a wheelchair-bound younger boy named Adam. After introducing themselves, the boys started playing ball together. Leanne was able to meet Adam’s mother, and now both families visit each other, share meals and meet on the playground. Your gifts through the Cooperative Program allowed these workers to meet Adam’s family. Thank the Father for this great gift of friendship, and ask that this family would come to believe the gospel. Bible Reference & Statement: Colossians 3:23 Giving to God is an act of celebration. We give not to impress people but in response to what God has done for us. Let us give enthusiastically and generously because our gifts are for His glory. The Value of Prayerwalking [Europe] As Christian workers JASON and DIANA FULLER* examined their city in Italy, they realized God’s heart is to reach every segment of their city and nation. They asked Him to reveal “God-prepared” people in whom He was already working. One day, Jason met a man named Patrick through his language exchange flyer. Patrick’s family invited the Fullers to lunch in their home. As Patrick walked them to his apartment building, Jason realized he had prayerwalked outside Patrick’s building the same week Patrick first contacted him. During lunch, they learned that Patrick’s mom is a believer and wants Patrick to follow Jesus. Gifts through the Cooperative Program enable the Fullers to share with more “God-prepared” people in Europe. Sharing a Testimony Eurasia Christian workers TERRY and FAYRENE WILLET moved to Germany with their four children. Both planned to share the gospel with Germans, but Fayrene was worried about her effectiveness in sharing the gospel without having German fluency and while taking care of her children at home. Then God brought an evangelism opportunity right to her doorstep. Jehovah’s Witnesses were active in that German neighborhood, and they spoke fluent English. Fayrene invited the Jehovah’s Witness missionaries into her home for coffee, and she shared her testimony. Continue to give generously through the Cooperative Program so the gospel will spread in Eurasia. Going to the People [Thailand] A people group in Thailand is treated as outcasts because they are fleeing from oppression. They work long hours and make very little money. Although many migrant workers in Thailand have not heard the gospel, God is giving missionaries an opportunity to talk about Jesus. Recently, a team of high school and college students went to migrant worker villages to serve alongside missionaries who are supported through the Cooperative Program. The students went to a village to share the gospel, and five of the migrant women prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior. Pray for these women to boldly live for Jesus, and pray for more migrant workers to profess faith in Christ. Ask God to use Kevin to continue developing a relentless culture of mission and discipleship within August Gate Church. Bible Reference & Statement: Galatians 5:1
Freedom is precious to Christians. God allows us freedom to manage our lives and the material resources He provided for our use. We have freedom to use a worthy portion to serve Christ, as when we give to our church. This pleases God and fills our own lives with joy.{/I}

God Calls Florida Couple to Atlantic City New Jersey CHRISTOPHER “BUFF” MCNICKLE had a comfortable job he loved as a youth minister at a large church in Florida. Knowing that God had called him and his wife into an “uncomfortable” life, Buff began praying about what God had next for the couple. When his pastor asked if he’d consider planting a church, Buff began to sense the Lord’s call. Two years ago, Buff planted a church in Atlantic City, N.J. Buff thanks you for your gifts given through the Cooperative Program and asks you to pray God would help him and his wife, SISSY, be salt and light to the city’s broken people. Bible Reference & Statement: Deuteronomy 8:18 In taking this truth seriously, you find yourself working side-by-side with God—in the field, warehouse, bank, shop, office, home or pulpit. A beautiful way to acknowledge God is to give faithfully through your church to support Christian ministries. Taking the Gospel to the Nations in Nashville Tennessee Through three mission trips to Romania in the early 2000s, God began to birth a desire in WES and TAMARA BANKS to take the gospel to the nations. After serving as International Mission Board mis- sionaries to the Romany people of Romania between 2007 and 2010, they moved to Nashville to reach internationals in the city. Because of your financial support through the Cooperative Program, they host a weekly house church in their home for 15 to 20 refugee students. In addition, the couple teaches English as a Second Language classes. Please pray that God would give the Banks family more opportunities to share the gospel. God Provides Diverse Church Planters for a Diverse Mission Field Wisconsin Southern Baptist missionary JOHN DRAPER helps church planters get new congregations started in southwest Wisconsin. One third of the state’s population, including Milwaukee, lives within the region. John is trusting God to restore a vision for planting churches that existed in the region years ago. God is proving Himself faithful by providing planters from a variety of backgrounds to plant churches in this diverse mission field. Through your church’s generous gifts given through the Cooperative Program, John can train church planters to better engage their neighbors with the good news about Jesus. Ask God to clearly communicate the need for prayer among the churches of the region. God’s Word and Spirit Break Through Central Asia “We gave this woman a Bible and left her alone for a year,” said Christian worker MARK BRACKIN* about NILUFAR*, a Muslim mayor in Central Asia. Another worker had shared with Nilufar and seen no fruit. But when Mark visited her again, Nilufar proclaimed faith in Jesus. She began sharing with her family and distributing a Christian film. “The Word of God and the Spirit of God [were] sufficient in her life to move her,” said Mark. He thinks it is possible dozens of families in Nilufar’s valley have heard the gospel and are following Jesus. Praise God for Cooperative Program funds that sent truth to a people group that previously had no known believers.
