She also is survived by her grandparents, Ernest and Earlene Lawson of Manchester and Manuel Grubb of London; brothers and sisters, Maxine Fragosa of Manchester and Jeffrey Grubb, George Grubb, Michael Burkhart, Doug Burkhart, Kenneth Lynn Burkhart and Katrina Yaden, all of London, and Jeanelle Gibbs of Barbourville. Visitation was Nov. 25, 2008, at Bowling Funeral Home. Services were Nov. 26 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Hollin officiating. Burial followed at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park in London.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nannie (Lawson) Sizemore; sons, Sonny Sizemore and Taylor Grant Sizemore; and brothers Chris Sizemore and Raleigh Sizemore. He is survived by his wife, Alma (Tipton) Hubbard Sizemore of London; daughters, Phyllis Durbin and Barbara Spencer, both of London, and Betty Lacefield of North Vernon, Ind.; son, Paul Sizemore of London; stepdaughters, Elizabeth Wagers of Fariston, Ky., and Carolyn Webster of LaGrange, Ky.; stepsons, Jack Cotton, Billy Cotton and Michael Cotton, all of London, Sam Smith, Critt Smith and Casey Smith, all of Manchester, and George Cotton of Middlesboro, Ky.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren and four great-stepgrandchildren. Visitation began Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, and continued until the start of services on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at London Funeral Home, with Johnny Shell officiating. Thomas “TJ” Reilly Jr. Obitthetimestribune.comThomas Reilly Jr.Marine Lance Cpl. Thomas “TJ” Reilly Jr., 19, died on Dec. 21 while supporting combat operations in Anbar province in Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Reilly’s death was reportedly the result of a rocket propelled grenade striking the Humvee in which he was riding. Reilly graduated from South Laurel High School in May 2007. In high school, he was an office holder in both the local and regional chapters of the Family Career and Community Leaders of America, a national organization for students in Family and Consumer Sciences education. Reilly was the son of Georgina Bray of London, the brother of Kenneth G. Bray of Braidwood, Ill. and Regina A. Reilly of Manchester, and the grandson of George Bray of Chicago. The funeral was Monday at London Funeral Home. Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Cemetery in London. Gov. Steve Beshear ordered flags at all state office buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday.

Layton Neel Obitsentinel-echo.comLayton Neel was born on July 15, 1917 in Clay County, the son of the late Robert Neel and Amelia Proffitt Neel. He was united in marriage to Almedia Beatrice Cox, who preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughter, Shirley Hill and husband, Garry, of London, and Mildred Leach, of Richmond, Ky.; a brother, Roy Neel, of Somerset, Ky.; four grandchildren, Amy Gregory, Andy Leach and wife, Becky, Awndrea Newman and husband, Steve, and Garry Dwayne Hill; three great-grandchildren, Rob and Ryan Newman and Dalton Gregory; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, A.J. Leach. Mr. Neel was a retired custodian at Pittsburg Elementary School and a farmer. He was a member of the Pittsburg Christian Church, and a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Layton Neel departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, being 91 years, 5 months and 19 days of age. Funeral services with military honors by the local DAV were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bernard Ward and the Rev. Orville Taylor officiating. Burial followed in the Elza Cemetery at East Bernstadt.

Mrs. Mills was a retired school teacher having taught for over 38 years in the Clay County School System; a previous member of the Manchester Baptist Church; and a member of the First Baptist Church of London. On Oct. 26, 1940 in Richmond, Ky., she was united in marriage to Ed Mills and to this union a daughter, Joyce and a son, Bill Ed were born. Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed Mills, in 1972; her son, Bill Ed Mills in 1969; and also by her 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Joyce (Mills) Cobb and husband, Glenn O. Cobb, of London; her granddaughter, Charla Wagers and husband, Steven, of London; two great-grandchildren, Will Wagers and Abby Wagers, of London; and many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at the London Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne House officiating. Burial followed in the Martin Cemetery, Clay County. Pallbearer were Donnie Burkhart, Dean Hammons, Marvin Smith, Rick Westerfield, Johnny Martin, Gary House, Clay Philpot Jr. and Sammy House.

Proffitt, of Hazard; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Feb. 8, in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Benge and Tim Philpot officiating.
