When Minor Health Worries Cast Big Shadows That tummy ache? Must be stomach cancer. That headache? A brain tumor. Forgetting things? Uh oh, Alzheimer's. Who hasn't overreacted to utterly common problems? But some people are especially prone to health fears. One antidote? Exercise. Sweaty workouts shrink health worries. You shouldn’t ignore persistent or sudden symptoms, of course. But if rationally you know you're fine, yet you just can't let go of nagging fears, go for a jog, swim, or hike.

Blood Pressure - Why is it important? Your blood pressure reading is an indication of how well your heart works. However, apart from this, we should remember that nutrients are carried to the cells by the blood circulation, and that the whole body will suffer from decreased health if the circulation is impaired.
The first blood pressure reading (systolic) indicates how the heart contracts and at what rate the blood is pushed into the arteries, while the second reading (diastolic) shows the pressure in the arteries after contraction. The reason why doctors are more concerned with the second reading, is that this will be higher and higher as the arteries become narrowed by plaque - and is therefore an indication of developing cardiac disease, and used to determine the progress of existing disease.
When the heart works consistently too hard, it enlarges and becomes weakened, while the inside layer of the arteries becomes hardened and scarred. A doctor will prescribe cholesterol-lowering medication even to those who are only at risk of cardiovascular disease, in the hope of lowering fatal outcomes.
To avoid developing any of these problems, take care to eat fresh fruit and vegetables every day. If not avoiding meat altogether, try to eat more vegetable protein than meat protein and cut down on sugar and fruit juice, and avoid processed meats as far as possible.

The Sad Sound of Poor Sleep If you've ever grumbled about a snoring bedfellow robbing you of sleep while he or she blissfully saws logs, here's some surprising news: Snoring bothers snorers, too.
Seems that people with nighttime breathing problems may be 80 percent more likely to develop depression compared to people who breathe (and sleep) soundly through the night. Snoring. Sawing logs. Gasping. Whatever you call it, get it checked out, pronto. You'll both be happier.

Stabilise your Blood sugar If you consume excessive amounts of sugar or refined carbohydrates (white bread, cakes, biscuits), in the diet the result is a process known as AGE-ing or glycosylation.
Glucose combines with proteins in blood and tissues forming a sticky compound, which causes tissue damage, and ageing and degenerative diseases.
A similar process can be demonstrated when a chicken is roasted. The browning of the chicken skin is a result of glycosylation. Thus-reduce amounts of sugar and refined carbs in your diet. Consume adequate amounts of protein and good fats.
Practice " Hara hachi Bu " like the Okinawans who eat until they are 80% full. Avoid overeating !

Self-Fulfilling Predictions Get this: If you think the years ahead will be better than the years behind, they will be.
But if you expect your health to decline with age, you may actually encourage that to happen. How? By taking a why-bother attitude, especially about staying fit. Instead, buck the odds and stay active, no matter how old you are, 39, 59, or even 99 -- an age you should aim to reach.

The Brightest Bulbs in the Pantry Chopped, sautéed, roasted, or caramelized . . . onions liven up the flavor of your foods and boost your cancer-fighting defenses.
The bonus: Onions are a low-calorie veggie bursting with flavonoids, vitamin C, and chromium. Why not make an-onion-a-day a habit? If teary eyes stop you, chill the onion before cutting. Stinky fingers a problem? Swipe your digits with a slice of lemon or a splash of vinegar. Bad breath? Nibble on parsley or apple slices. Or cook the onion first, to release some of the sulfur compounds

Reach Out and Calm Someone When you see a look of panic cross a loved one's face, offer something that will have an immediate impact: your hand.
Perhaps it's instinct to do that anyway. But now there's hand-holding data to back it up. In a recent study, the touch of a loved one had real power in times of crisis. Brain scans of people under duress revealed that threat-related brain activity diminished when a loved one grabbed their hands.

Another Excuse Bites the Dust Think it's too late to add years to your life? Studies say it isn't so.
Even if you're a late bloomer when it comes to exercise, don't let your couch-potato past stop you. Recent research found that sedentary women 65 and older who turned over a new leaf and got moving cut their chances of dying from cancer in half and from heart disease by a third. That's no small potatoes.

Car Detailing Tips and Tricks Let's face it, even a tiny scratch or a little ding in the paint job of a brand-new car is cause for upset. You see red, you're hot, you want justice -- and, most of all, and you want it gone. That's when you call in a pro to get the job done. You call guys like Louie the car detailer who knows how to deal with stuff like serious surface scuffmarks or Fido's claw scratches on your driver's-side door. You might have tried some car wax first with no success, but Louie knows better. He brings in the heavy ammo -- car polish, not wax. Wax is for lightweights, a little spiffy surface treatment at best. But polish contains a mild abrasive, and a polish wax has the best of both worlds.

Chronic pain and inflammation It is quite likely that the majority of people actually suffer from one sort of chronic pain or other, whether it is headaches, muscle or joint pains, or pain which they may not even know the origin of.
Both infection and inflammation contribute to pain. Infection is when the body is invaded by foreign agents, like a virus, bacteria or fungus. Inflammation on the other hand, is the body's response to injury, and could include overuse of the joints like in the case of arthritis.
It would be good to remember that dietary fats works inflammation in hand since it converts to some of the metabolic substances that promote inflammation. In any case of inflammation, take omega 3 oils, found in cold water fish like sardines, salmon, tuna and herring.
Take care with instant coffee since it is believed that it has substances that block the receptor sites onto which our bodies own painkillers, endorphins, link. Try to establish the link with the pain - apart from painkillers there is much that can be done to avert the pain, before consulting a doctor.

Keep your eyes on the road and your hands behind the wheel It is estimated that about 25% of road accidents in the US are due to distractions and inattention while driving. The Mayo Clinic Health Letter cites eating, map reading, reaching for something, talking on a cellphone and watching an accident scene as potential causes.
The main culprit, according to another study, is reaching for a moving object inside the car, which is said to increase your risk of a potential accident 8 times. Looking outside will increase it by 3.7 times; dialing a cell 2.8; and eating, reaching for something, or talking on a phone 1.5.

Sock it to colds Scientists in the UK say that cold feet result in the blood vessels in the nose tightening.
This reduces the number of white blood cells, which fight infection, resulting in more germs being inhaled. Keep your feet warm to avoid getting a cold.

Obesity Symptom:
Overweight is a problem that has plagued the human race for centuries; the media have made the weight issue even more visible. Often in the past if you had a certain look it was attractive, and I can only think of one or two really famous actresses who are overweight and still being filmed. Our models for clothing have to be a size 8 to 12. Many books have been written on this subject and many more will be written.
Take your Supplements daily as many over weight people are mal nourished, this may also help to combat cravings.
Possible Solutions:
Diet and exercise. There is no other way.
All the vitamins should be taken in the recommended daily allowance.
Calcium - 1,000milligrams daily.
Chromium - 50 to 200 milligrams daily
Copper - 1,5 milligrams daily
Iron - 15milligrams
Magnesium - 200 to 500 mg daily
Vitamin A - 5,000mg daily [higher doses may be advised by your health professional]
Vitamin C - 1,000mg daily will act as a natural diuretic.
Vitamin E - 30 IU [don't take it with an iron supplement as it cannot be utilized at the same time, as iron.]
Vitamin B - Take a B vitamin complex as directed on the packaging.

High cholesterol is the cause of arteriosclerosis, a build up of plaque in the veins and arteries. The most dangerous being the arteries near the heart, as these narrow there is less blood and therefore less oxygen carried to the heart area which will cause either a heart attack or heart failure.
HDL is the dangerous fat.
LDL is the helpful one.
Possible solutions:
Reduce stress by exercising and learning to meditate, as cholesterol is known to increase under stressed conditions. Food:
A low fat high fibre diet is recommended
Include lots of oat bran in the diet.
Use olive oil in preference to any other oil and replace all dairy products with rice and soya milk.
Yoga:
12 rounds of the sun salute daily will assist in building, a really good exercise routine.

No Joke, This Is Exercise Your doctor may soon be prescribing 15 minutes of laughter a day. A new study has found that laughter can improve blood flow, which over time may protect against heart disease. It is thought that laughter not only triggers the release of nitric oxide, a chemical that relaxes blood cells, but also increases the release of endorphins, hormones shown to repair blood vessels. Perhaps, we should endorse finding a way to laugh heartily for at least 15 minutes every day!
