The Real Life story about a Manchester Radio Broadcaster (TYLER WOLFE) Tyler started his broadcasting career at WWXL A.M 1450 when the station was known as OLDIES 1450 at the age of 13 on September 13th 2003. Tyler Started out as a 50’s & 60’s Rock.N.Roll D.J playing Elvis, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and so on music that Tyler really liked playing and still listens to this very day. Tyler now of course advanced to WKLB 1290 KL Country in Feburary 2007 and Tyler has been involved in radio broadcasting in Manchester for nearly 4 years. Tyler is the evening D.J at WKLB 1290 A.M and his heard Monday thorugh Saturday at 4pm. And also Saturday mornings at 6am. Tyler has done almost everything in radio broadcasting. From being a board operator of ball games, live remotes, and of course being a Disc Jockey. Tyler is also THE VOICE OF CLAY COUNTY TIGER FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL ON WKLB. When we asked Tyler how he became the voice of Clay County sports he told us in quote Well I really had no desires to be a sportscaster but one evening my boss calls me and tells me that I have to call the basketball game between Clay.Co and Lynn Camp tonight and I thought to myself this man has got to be INSANE!. I mean I was not even prepared to call a ball game and I had never called a ball game ever in my life so I started calling Clay County sports and after that first game I called I got really great response from the WKLB audience. I thought that night I would do horrible at calling the ball game but the audience of the radio station told me I did a real great job.) Tyler Wolfe is a Local Country Music D.J here in Manchester and here is what Tyler says about his Job ( I love my job and I take my job very seriously. I know theres people out there who think I’m stupid, ignorant and retarted and I’m not regardless of what anyone tells you. I love my job and I take it very seriously and this is an occupation I plan to do for the rest of my life. Broadcasting is about entertaining your audience and giving them what they want to hear not what the people inside the station want to hear. On my show on WKLB I play 90’s through modern country through the week and I play CLASSIC COUNTRY on Saturday morning right before the swap shop. I want to hear from audience if there is any problem with what I play air over WKLB. I cannot fix problems on my show unless I hear from my audience. Broadcasting is all about promoting the station you work for not promoting the individual like some stations do. And if anyone out there thinks that radio broadcasting is about being better then everyone else you need not get involved broadcasting. I am not in this business to get fame and popularity. I am in this business because this is something I love doing.) Tyler is heard MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAYS AT 4PM on 1290 WKLB and on Saturday mornings at 6am. If you would like to make a request simply telephone 598-2445 or 598-2653. Also Tyler says (At some stations I have worked for they just wanted to promote there selves and to heck with everybody else. The 2 people who I honestly believe believe that I have any potential to succeed in this business is Phil Lindsey the man that gave me my first start in broadcasting who unfortunately is now deceased and is a man I still miss to this very day. And the other person is The Mayor of WKLB. Ive known Mayor for a year and a half and has been a true honest friend and has helped me out in every way possible and is a friend of mine who I have trust in and he believes I have potential to go far in this business and that really helps me out a lot.THE REAL LIFE STORY ABOUT MANCHESTER RADIO BROADCASTER TYLER WOLFE OF WKLB 1290 A.M

Porter Wagoner, country singer, dies at 80 October 29, 2007 Porter Wagoner, a country singer who mixed rhinestone suits, a towering pompadour and cornball jokes with direct, simple songs over a career best known for his partnership with Dolly Parton, died last night in Nashville. He was 80. His death, in a Nashville hospice, was announced by the Grand Ole Opry. Wagoner, who survived an abdominal aneurysm last year, was hospitalized this month with lung cancer, his publicist, Darlene Bieber, had said. Wagoner had 81 singles on the country charts, 29 of them in the Top 10. His many hits, typically songs seeking honest answers to hard questions, included "Green, Green Grass of Home," "Skid Row Joe" and "The Cold Hard Facts of Life." For 21 years, appearing on television in flashy suits and a cotton-candy pompadour, he was the host of "The Porter Wagoner Show," which was eventually syndicated in 100 markets, reaching 3.5 million viewers a week. Wagoner recorded some of country music's earliest concept albums, in which individual tracks combine in a thematic whole. On one, titled "What Ain't To Be Just Might Happen" (1972), he explored insanity with songs that included "Rubber Room," derived from his experience in a psychiatric ward. He won three Grammys for gospel recordings he made with the Blackwood Brothers. For more than half a century, Waggoner was a fixture of the Grand Ole Opry; in 1992, after the death of Roy Acuff, he became its unofficial spokesman. And if Wagoner did not exactly discover Parton, her regular appearances on his television show were the foundation of her career. They won the Country Music Association's award for duo of the year three times. Wagoner's life had elements of an old-fashioned country song. He was born on Aug. 12, 1927, on a farm where mules still pulled the plow, not far from West Plains, Missouri, in the Ozark mountains. He sold the pelts of rabbits he trapped to scrape together the $8 he needed to buy his first guitar, a National, from Montgomery Ward. He spent hours pretending that the stump of a felled oak tree was the Opry stage and that he was introducing country stars.

Muddy Gap resident Youel Napier foud this unusual rock in his yard while doing some excavation work. Napier says he is trying to learn about the origins of the rock, wich contains several varieties of mineral formations. He says James Burchell, a well-known expert in the field, believes the rock is not native to Kentucky, and may have originated in North Carolina.
