Clay County quarterback Zach Lewis receives the snap from center Isiah Collins during the Perry Central game Friday night. Lewis threw for 391 yards to set the all time passing yardage record in Kentucky, passing Tim Couch on a 65 yard touchdown pass to CJ Miller. Clay's Lewis breaks Couch's recordClay County star has 12,489 career passing yards(L-R) Zach Lewis, C.J. MillerClay County's Zach Lewis didn't waste any time Friday night breaking Tim Couch's state record for passing yards. Needing 69 yards for the record, Lewis broke it on the second play of the game, a 64-yard touchdown pass to C.J. Miller. That eclipsed the 12,167 yards Couch amassed while at Leslie County. Lewis went 21-for-29 for 391 yards and three touchdowns in the 39-25 victory over visiting Perry Central. He pushed his record passing yardage total to 12,490.
