Zach Lewis was selected to participate in the 2009 National Guard Border Bowl between the Kentucky All-stars and Tennessee All-stars held at the University of the Cumberlands, James H. Taylor, II Stadium, in Williamsburg on Saturday, January 17, 2009. Lewis, who finished the afternoon completing 5 of 13 passes for 43 yards, was under center for Kentucky's final scoring drive that gave the home team a 26 - 13 advantage. The Kentucky All-stars held on for an exciting 26 - 20 victory. With the win, the annual series between the best of the best from Kentucky and Tennessee now stands tied at one win apiece.
