Phil Robertson's Children’s Christmas Campaign
This week’s Duck Dynasty controversy has ruffled a lot of feathers, but it has had one positive effect. Children across the country might enjoy a merrier Christmas as sales of the Duck Commander Phil Robertson’s autographed posters have skyrocketed with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Marine Toys for Tots program.
Nationally-renowned artist Michael Hunt created a series of posters involving the Duck Dynasty family. Two include the theme of family values entitled “Faith, Family, Football and Duck Hunting.” Last month, Hunt had his close friend and patriarch of the Robertson family sign a limited number of posters and agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds of the sale of the artwork to the Toys for Tots Foundation whose mission is to offer hope for less fortunate children through the gift of a new toy at Christmas.
“Since the controversy this week, the phones at our studios in New Orleans have been ringing off the hook as so many Duck Dynasty fans want to get their hands on one of the limited number of signed prints,” said Hunt. “It was already expected to be one of the best holiday collectibles for this season, but A&E show’s ongoing dispute has made this poster a ‘must have’ piece of memorabilia.”
Earlier this year, Hunt agreed to the Toys for Tots donation for this holiday season and began a regional tour to promote the Duck Dynasty prints to fulfill the Christmas dreams of needy children. The donations go to the local communities in which the fans purchased the art. The five autographed Duck Dynasty prints can be viewed at:
