Kentucky State Police investigate Shooting on Horse Creek Kentucky State Police Press Release
On Saturday, March 22, 2014, at approximately 2:25 AM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London was notified of a shooting that had taken place in the Paw-Paw Trailer Park in the Horse Creek Community of Clay County. Upon arrival Troopers learned through an investigation that Terry D. Sandlin, 27, of Manchester had been shot in the back by Gary Rowland, 61, of Manchester after Rowland allegedly discovered Sandlin walking on the roadway in front of his residence and fired several shots at him. Further investigation revealed that a nearby residence had been struck by one of the bullets from Rowland’s firearm, however no one inside was injuried. Terry Sandlin was flown from the scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he is being treated for his injuries. Gary Rowland was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault 1st degree and two (2) counts of Wanton Endangerment. KSP Detective Jeff Senters is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by KSP SGT Steve Walker, Trooper Josh Cox, Trooper Ben Graves, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Manchester Police Department and the Clay County EMS.
