2,000-point plateauIt's fairly routine these days for high school basketball players to score 1,000 points in their career. But they're breathing rarefied air when they get to 2,000 points. Jayme Gilbert of Clay County, Chelsia Lymon of Scott County and Aaron Dunaway of Henry Clay reached that plateau during holiday tournaments. Gilbert became the all-time leading scorer in Clay County girls' history during the Fifth Third Classic at Lexington Catholic. Gilbert broke the record of 2,004 points set by Kim Jones, who led Clay County to the 1989 state title. Gilbert has 2,166 points. The 5-foot-8 senior is also the Lady Tigers' all-time leader in assists (645) and steals (403), and is sixth in rebounds (737). Coach Donnie Gray said Gilbert's knowledge of the game and "gritty way of playing" make her special. Read the entire article at....
