The junior point guard, who ranks among the region’s leading scorers at 22.3 points per game, suffered a torn left Achilles tendon in the closing seconds of a 59-57 loss Thursday to Clay County. Smith, who ranks among the school’s all-time leading scorers with 1,471 points, had surgery in Lexington on Friday and was back home last night. The recovery time for the injury is listed as four to six months, meaning the Dragons’ standout pitcher-shortstop could also miss the entire baseball season. Read the entire article at....
