Nina J. Smith, age 78 departed this life on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on Friday, July 25, 1941 in Manchester to Elzie and Rachel Stutivant Abner.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Dorothy Swafford, James Smith, Donald Ray Smith and Kenneth Ray Smith, 8 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and her sisters: Juanita Wombles and Patricia Smith.

Mr. Ronald W. Hensley, age 73 departed this life on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at his home. He was born on Friday, April 18, 1947 in Oneida, Kentucky to Herschel and Magdalene VanOver Hensley. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965 where he was assigned to the 18th Fighter Wing on Okinawa for 18 months during 1966 and 1967, in direct support of the Vietnam War. Ronald was awarded and received the USAF Good Conducted Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Ronald was honorably discharged in 1968. He was a life member of the VFW Post 7606 and also a life member of the DAV Chapter 137 of Manchester. After discharge from the military, Ronald worked for the Kentucky Highway Department district office in Manchester until his retirement in 1992. Ronald Hensley is the son of Herschel Hensley, a World War II veteran and the grandson of William Henry Hensley, a World War I veteran. All three have honorable discharges and are proud to have been a service to their country. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Wanda Webb Hensley and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: Herschel and Magdalene Hensley. Funeral Services for Mr. Ronald W. Mrs. Ruth Anna Smith, age 59 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on Tuesday, July 19, 1960 in Hyden, Kentucky to Fred and Nancy Gray Wagers. She worked for the Clay County Board of Education for over 30 years and was a member of the Community Family Church. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband Rev. Jim Smith, her daughter: Jessica Nicole Asher and her husband Brandon, her son: Freddie Dewayne Smith and his wife Emilee, her grandchildren: Brandon Bryce Asher, Jensen Colt Smith and Lincoln Jude Asher. Melanie Anne Costa left this earth for a heavenly hone in her home in Lexington, Kentucky on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the age of 34. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana at St. Elizabeth Hospital in 1985 to Timothy C. Jones and Kelly (Riley) McFall. Melanie attended Attica High School and played softball, basketball and was a member of the Flag Corp. She had 3 children: Wesley, Kiera and Christian, who were the love of her life. She married Brian Costa, her best friend in 2015. Melanie was a manager at Spring in Indianapolis, Indiana, worked for UPS and was top saleswoman at Big M Dealership in Lexington. At the time of her passing, she was the top saleswoman and the Sales Manager at Chrysler of Lawrenceburg in Lexington, Kentucky. Melanie and her husband shared two boxers, Plum and Violet and a cat Tigger. Melanie worked hard and played harder. She made friends easily and didn’t hold a grudge. Melanie would light up any room she entered. She had a contagious smile and a winning personality. She loved her family, her friends, her animals, boxed and looking her best. Melanie is preceded in death by her nephew: Sammie, her aunt: Michelle, her GrandPa Frank and her uncle Ed. Mr. Harold “Herman” Westerfield, age 78 departed this life on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his home. He was born on Wednesday, July 16, 1941 in Jackson County, Kentucky to Emery and Clara Cupp Westerfield. He worked in construction or over 33 years and was a member of the Maulden Baptist Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing his sons: Ricky Westerfield and his wife Shonna, Randy Westerfield and his wife Veneda and Rondall Westerfield and his wife Lindsay and his grandchildren: Chelsea Westerfield, Raegan Westerfield and Logan Westerfield. Kit Magnolia Napier passed peacefully in the arms of her parents on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington. Kit was born on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Kit was a blessing to her family, and they had awaited her birth with joyful expectation. During her 19 weeks on Earth, she touched the lives of more people than most individuals ever do. She loved rattles, tummy time, ocean sounds, and the sea turtle light on the ceiling of her hospital room. She was curious, brave, and spunky. Kit was the daughter of Ryan and Kari Napier. She is survived by her twin sister, Wren Harlow Napier. Survivors also include grandparents Dennis and Terri Cotton of Manchester, KY, great-grandmother Charlotte Day of Manchester, KY, grandparents Billy and Patty Smith of London, KY, great-grandmother Della Mae Smith of London, KY, grandparents Jerry and Marlene Napier of Manchester, KY, great-grandfather Roscoe Napier of Annville, KY, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends. Kit was proceeded in death by her great-grandparents--George Cotton, Joan Cotton, Hannie Day, Charlie Smith, Wanda Mae Lawson, and Carlo Lawson--who all greeted her in Heaven. Kit was deeply loved by family, friends, and all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. He was retired from the military where he served for 22 years in the Army and Marines and was a Security Police in Bosnia and Afghanistan as he served in the Vietnam War and Desert Storm.
