Mr. Oakley Ray Gregory, age 70 departed this life on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on Sunday, December 25, 1949 in Manchester, Kentucky to Bill and Cora Minton Gregory. He worked for Progressive tool and die in Michigan.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter: Alena Denson, his grandchildren: Cody Denson, Jake Denson, Jonathan Denson, Dale Denson and Amber Denson, his brother: Daugh Gregory and his sister: Gertrude Lawson and her husband Clay.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Cora Gregory and his brothers and sisters: Chloe Smith, Pearl Wilson, Lillie Mae Hicks, Sim Gregory and Christine Sizemore.

Dora Bowling Hacker, age 96, departed this life on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Advent Health Hospital in Manchester, Kentucky. She was born Friday, March 28, 1924 to the union of Tester and Clara Bowling.
She leaves to mourn her passing four children: Mike and wife Faye Hacker, Sandra and husband Albert Lawson, Connie Lester, Deborah and husband Jimmy Dobson, daughter-in-law, Kathy Hacker, son-in-law, Danny “Boone” Sumner, sister-in-law, Virginia Bowling, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Leonard Hacker; her parents, Tester and Clara Bowling; and these siblings: Bob Bowling, Jack Bowling, Oscar Bowling, Georgia Lipps, Kathleen Herron, and Edith “Peanut” Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Hacker; daughter, Rebecca Sumner; grandson, Michael Lane Hacker; and granddaughter, Jennifer Hacker Smith.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Manchester Memorial Gardens. Reverend Rusty Roberts, Reverend Dean Lawson, Reverend Scotty Sumner, and Reverend Tess Lipps will be presiding. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Dean Lawson, Jeremy Hacker, Jonathan Dobson, Nicholas Dobson, Tanner Dobson, and Tyler Sumner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Landmark of Laurel Creek Rehabilitation Center, per Susan Bush, in honor of Dora Hacker. The address is 1033 KY 11, Manchester, KY.

Mr. Winton “Smiley” Vallance, age 91 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2020. He was born on Friday, May 10, 1929 in Big Creek, Kentucky to the union of Arthur and Lena Hacker Vallance. He worked in road construction, was a member of the Greenbriar Presbyterian Church, a Kentucky Colonel and a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean Conflict.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter: Eugenia Dezarn and her husband Don, his grandchildren: Chandler Dezarn and Cortland Dezarn as well as his brother: Gerald Vallance and his sisters: Janet Jamison and Norma Jean Clark.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Golda Vallance, his parents: Arthur and Lena Vallance and these brothers and sisters: Marie Vallance, Cloyd Vallance, Carl Vallance, Leonard Vallance, Arthur Vallance, Jr., Mary Jean Wilson, Phyllis Marcum and J. B. Vallance.

Louise Allene Caldwell age 80 departed this life on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Berea, Kentucky. She was born on Monday, March 25, 1940 in Manchester, Kentucky to Edward C. Bowling and Ellen Caldwell Bowling.
She enjoyed magazines, pictures and music especially Elvis Presley and she enjoyed soap operas and watching television. She is survived by several cousins, other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father: Edward C. Bowling and her mother: Ellen Bowling.
Graveside services for Louise Allene Caldwell will be conducted on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1 PM at the Manchester Memorial Gardens. Pastor Donnie McKissic and Pastor Sherry Green will be presiding. She will be laid to rest next to her mother in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

On Tuesday, December 29, 2020 Terry LEE Gray Jr, loving son, husband, father and friend, passed away at the age of 35 with his father Terry Lee Gray. Lee was born on Monday, June 17, 1985 in Manchester KY to Terry and Britta Gray. He was united in marriage to Shannon LeAnn (Collett) Gray on May 20, 2018. Together they were raising their children Emma Lynn Gray and Sawyer Lee Gray.
Lee was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Geneva Holiday and his grandfather Hiram Gray. He took his Heavenly Journey along with his father Terry Gray.
Lee is survived by his wife, Shannon (Collett) Gray and his children Emma Lynn Gray and Sawyer Lee Gray and unborn child due in 2021, his mother Britta Gray, his sister and brother-in-law Tiffany and Kevin Hinkle. His grandmother: Nannie Gray, his mother and father-in-law Michael and Vonda Collett, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Tabitha and Bryan Elam, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Lee was an employee of ECE Express. Lee loved to be outdoors whether it was hunting, being on the farm, or working on the sawmill. He loved being with his nieces and nephews and was known for getting them into trouble. His greatest joy was Emma and Sawyer which was shown everyday with what a great father he was.

On Tuesday, December 29, 2020 Terry Lee Gray; loving son, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 61 along with his son Terry Lee Gray Jr.
Terry was born Wednesday, May 13, 1959 in Manchester KY to Hiram and Nannie (Hubbard) Gray. He was united in marriage to Britta Jean (Holiday) Gray on July 20, 1979. Together they raised their two children Tiffany and Lee Gray.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Hiram Gray, his grandparents Oscar and Laura (Hubbard) Gray and Henry and Sarah Gray. His father and mother in-law James and Geneva Holiday, his brother-in-law Billy Webb. He took his Heavenly Journey along with his son Lee Gray.
Terry is survived by his wife, Britta, his daughter Tiffany and Husband Kevin Hinkle, his mother Nan Gray, his daughter in law Shannon (Collett) Gray, his sisters, Laura Ann Webb and Vickie Lynn Gray Edwards and husband Jimmy, and the following grandchildren: Hogan Lee Hinkle, Amanda Lynn Marie Hinkle, Madelyn Kate Hinkle, Abram Kevin Hinkle, Caroline Faith Hinkle, Emma Lynn Gray and Sawyer Lee Gray, and a host of nieces, nephews and family and special cousin, Oscar Hubbard.
His work ethic was known to all, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He was an avid farmer, cook, candy maker and hunter. Terry was very giving and loving to everyone he knew.

She was a grocery store clerk, a member of the Horse Creek Baptist Church, a member of the Manchester Eastern Star #351 and the Clay County Homemakers Club.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband: Raymond Jeffrey, her children: James Howard Gregory and his wife Lorene, Phillip Ray Gregory and his wife Brenda, Penny Louise Hampton and her husband Darrell, David Louis Gregory and his wife Kathy and James Raymond Jeffrey and his wife Pat as well as a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters: Lina Abernathy, Nora Herskey, Patti Lou Bishop, James Scalf, Freddy Scalf and Edna Mae Robinson.

He was born on Monday, December 2, 1935 in Manchester, Kentucky to Chester and Della Davidson Martin. He was a tool and die maker, a grocer and a policeman as well as a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge.
He leaves to mourn his passing his children: Linda Carol Lewis, Sue Wetterer, Robert W. Martin, Keith Martin and David Martin as well as 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters: Ruby Sizemore, Ray Martin, Carl Martin and Edith Davidson.

Gordon Philpot, 79, was born Wednesday, September.10, 1941, at Urban on Little Goose Creek in Clay County, Kentucky, to Bradley and Mary Bishop Philpot, the fourth child of their eight. He lived at Richmond, Kentucky, at the time of his death on Monday, January 4, 2021. He is survived by two grandchildren, Margaret Quentin Prewitt of Lexington, Kentucky, and Henry Caywood Prewitt, III, a student at Fordham University in New York City. He is also survived by four brothers: Marvin Philpot (Un Cha) of Kileen Texas; Carl Philpot (Patsy) of Mt. Washington, KY; James Philpot of Oneida, KY; and Donald Philpot (Dottie) of Hamilton, Ohio. Gordon is also survived by three sisters: Patricia DeBord of Hamilton, Ohio; Brenda Risner (James Harold) of Prospect, KY; and Janet Philpot of LaGrange, KY. In death, he is preceded by his daughter, Jennifer Christine Philpot, and by his mother Mary Bishop Philpot and father Bradley Philpot. Gordon is survived by 16 first cousins on the Bishop side and 15 on the Philpot side. Thirty-two first cousins have preceded him in death. Gordon grew up among many kinfolks in the Bishop Bend neighborhood of northern Clay County along the South Fork of the Kentucky River. He was a 1959 graduate of Clay County High School where he excelled in academics. He worked his way through Eastern Kentucky State College and graduated with a business degree in 1963. After college, he worked for the State Department of Aid to Dependent Children in Clay County. Following that, he became a teacher at Clay County High school and retired after 30 years. Simultaneously, he worked as a tax accountant in Manchester and prepared taxes for prominent citizens. He served in the Army reserves where he rose through the ranks via Officer Candidate School and eventually reached the rank of Lt. Colonel. To the end, Gordon was devoted to his two grandchildren, and with constant interest and affection, he watched them grow up. Gordon is remembered for his bright wit and his talent as a mimic and an impressionist, which amused his brothers and sisters, as well as students on the long school bus ride to Manchester. He enjoyed traveling to far reaches of the North American continent, but it might be said that Pat’s Pool Room in downtown Manchester was his favorite place. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by the Rominger Funeral Home of Manchester. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday January 9, 2021, from 11 to 12. Burial is to be at the Bishop Bend Graveyard among Gordon’s ancestors near the Owsley County line inside Clay County, KY. Arrangements are entrusted to the Rominger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Margaret Kathy Hacker of Greenbriar departed this life on Friday, January 7, 2021 at Advent Health in Manchester, Kentucky. She was born on March 7th 1952 in Manchester, Kentucky to TJ and Billie Jean Hibbard. She was a devout Christian wife, mother and nannie. She was a dedicated, registered nurse for 28 years most recently serving as MDS Coordinator at Landmark of Laurel Creek. She also served many years as bookkeeper of Jerry Hacker Trucking.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son: Jeremy Leonard Hacker and his wife Sabrina, one brother; Bob Hibbard and his wife Janet, her grandchildren: Thomas Alan Smith, and Holly and Hudson Hacker. She also leaves these sisters and brothers in law; Sandra Lawson and husband Albert, Deborah Dobson and husband Jimmy, Connie Lester, and Danny "Boone" Sumner. Dorothy Gibson, age 78 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her home. She was born on Friday, January 1, 1943 in Manchester, Kentucky to Luther and Annie Hooker Gibson.
She leaves to mourn her passing her brothers and sisters: Thelma Smith, Elsie Brumley, Helen Goodman, Juanita Napier, Judy Gregory, Blaine Gibson, Wanda Johnson, Johnny Gibson, Wendell Gibson and Brenda Gibson as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Luther and Annie Gibson and her brothers: Wayne Gibson, Burbon Gibson and Grant Gibson.
Funeral Services for Dorothy Gibson will be conducted on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Owen Smith will be presiding. She will be laid to rest in the Hooker Cemetery in the Blue Hole Community.

Mrs. Alice Fay Stinson Gregory age 74 departed this life on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Baptist Health of Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on Friday, November 22, 1946 in Manchester, Kentucky to Carl H. and Laura Rice Stinson. She was a member of the Horse Creek Baptist Church, a retired school teacher, where she taught for many years at the Manchester Elementary School, a member of the Red Hat Society and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, past Worthy Matron and 55 year member of the Manchester Eastern Star #351.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of over 55 years: Russell Gilbert Gregory, her daughters: Laura Ann Bray and her husband Elbert Lee and Sarah Gregory and her friend Jason. Also surviving are her special nieces: Brittany Robinson, Carlin Nicholson and Vonda K. Couch as well as her grand dog: Smokey Salmons and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Carl H. and Laura Stinson, her son: William Russell “Willie” Gregory, her brother: Joe Harris Stinson, her sister and brother-in-law: Anna Katherine Stinson Smith and Hiriam and her nephew: Carl Ray Stinson.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Alice Fay Stinson Gregory will be conducted on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Allen B. Roberts and Rev. John Boley will be presiding. She will be laid to rest next to her son: Willie Gregory in the Rice Cemetery in the Lyttleton Community.

Mrs. Chloie Couch, age 83 departed this life on Friday, January 15, 2021 at her home. She was born on Saturday, November 13, 1937 in Perry County, Kentucky to Arthur and Maggie Arnett Barger. She worked in the cafeteria for the Perry County Board of Education and was a member of the Mt. Paran Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Roy Arthur Couch and Debbie, Francis Couch and Judy, Charlene Couch and Pleas, Sylvia Bellamy and Vernon, Ernest Couch and Audrey and Maggie Bellamy and Michael. Also surviving are 6 brothers, 2 sisters, 25 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild as well as a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Roy Jr. Couch, her parents: Arthur and Maggie Arnett Barger, her son: Milton David Couch, her sisters: Mary Jane Gibson and Mallie Barger.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Chloie Couch will be conducted on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2 PM at the Mt. Paran Baptist Church. Bro. Robert Rice and Vernon David Bellamy will be presiding. She will be laid to rest in the Ira Barger Cemetery in the Mudlick Community of Saul, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday after 11 AM at the Mt. Paran Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Moe Couch, Greg Couch, Big Bub Couch, Eric Joe Couch, Ernest Jr. Couch and Joshua Couch.

Mrs. Helen Gross, age 87 departed this life on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Landmark of Laurel Creek. She was born on Wednesday, August 9, 1933 to the union of Willie and Ella Deaton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Run Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son: Freddy Gross and his wife Jean, her grandchildren: Greg Napier and his wife Kim, Mike Napier and his wife Donna, Tracy Chesnut and her husband Kevin and Kim Carr as well as her great grandchildren: Dustin Napier and his wife Vanessa, Stacey Hubbard and her husband Brian, Durand Napier and his fiancé Andrea, Brian Taylor Napier and his wife Emily, Luke Chesnut and Ryleigh Napier and the following great great grandchildren: Emma Grace Napier, Ella James Napier, Elen Hubbard, Iyla Hubbard and Kinsley Napier. Also surviving is her brother: Jennings Deaton and his wife Irene of Manchester.

Mr. Jeffrey James Murphy, age 57, departed this life on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the AdventHealth in Manchester. He was born on Monday, September 30, 1963 in Manchester, Kentucky to Jimmy and Ollie (Curry) Murphy. He was a painter and a member of the Burning Springs Church of God.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved his trade and was a tremendously skilled painter. He used his talents to paint many of the homes in our community, where touches of his talent will be displayed for years to come.
He leaves to mourn his passing his mother: Ollie Murphy, and his loving wife: LeShay Ann (Bartlett) Murphy; his children: Brittany Jamyl Murphy and Jillessa Layne Napier and husband Steven; his grandchildren: Leah Grace Napier, McKinlee Rayne Burns and Rylee Faith Napier. Also surviving is his sister: Linda Senters and husband Mark; and these nieces and nephews: Amy Stewart, Marla Hacker, Brent Senters and wife Trish, Brandon Senters and Kaitlyn; eight great nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father: Jimmy Murphy and his sister: Kendall Ann Stewart.
Funeral services for Jeffrey James Murphy will be conducted on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joey Burns and Rev. George Davidson will be officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Linda Renee Collett, age 62 departed this life on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at her home. She was born on Wednesday, June 4, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. She was a nurse’s aid at the Landmark of Laurel Creek for over 26 years and a member of the Pleasant Point Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband: Johnny Collett, her daughter: Rhonda Bray and her son: Michael Coffey and Melanie Coffey, who she raised as her own. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Rjohnni Coffey, Trendon Sparks, Janay Sparks and Malory Coffey as well as these brothers and sisters: Eugene Capitano, Sherri Day, Debra Cheek and Claudine McQueen.
She is preceded in death by her mother: Vivian Kirby Coffey and her son: Ronnie Gene Hacker.

He leaves to mourn his passing his parents: Leslie Melton and Laura Etta Melton and these brothers and sisters: Kenneth Melton, Michelle Melton Fee, Leslie Russell Melton, Kimberly Campbell, Jennifer Noel Melton, Tommy Dean, Nathaniel Dean, Felicia Dean and Kaitlyn Dean.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Betty Thompson, his children: Michael Wayne Thompson, Melinda Gayle Thompson, Denver Lee Thompson and Allan Dale (Nub) Thompson and his wife Rhonda. Mary Katherine Kemp Merideth, age 75 departed this life on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the AdventHealth in Manchester, Kentucky. She was born on Wednesday, July 11, 1945 in New Albany, Indiana to Alive and Idella Sims Kemp. She joined in Union to James Merideth on April 8, 1964 who preceded her in death.
Mary worked as a waitress for 30 years, was part of the VFW and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters Kimberly Grady (Monte) Of Auburn, Kentucky and Stacy Payne (Terry) of London, Kentucky. Also surviving are six grandkids: Ashley Abbett (Josh) of Tucson, Arizona , Philip Short (MaryKate) of Naperville, Illinois, Kayla Walker (Billy Aaron) of Manchester, Kentucky, Mitchell Short (Holly) of Galesburg, Illinois, Jennifer Payne (Sebastian) of London, Kentucky and Courtney Merideth of Sonneman, Illinois, 11 great grandchildren Kashus, Hailie, Maddalynn, Wyatt, Kennedy, Brooklyn, Hannah, Hudson, Jaylah, Hope, and Jackson and a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Alvie and Idella Kemp, her beloved son: Roger Edward Meredith and one great grandson Wesley Keaton Walker as well as seven siblings.
Funeral Services for May Merideth will be conducted on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Davidson and Rev. Joe Crockett will be presiding.
