Clay County defeated district foe North Laurel 6-5 in extra innings at London Tuesday night behind a complete game pitching performance by Nick Gray and a three run home run by Justin Hobbs. The Clay County Tigers baseball team will participate in a tournament at Knox Central over the weekend. The Tigers will open up with Cumberland, Friday night at 8 PM, then take on the host Pathers Saturday morning at 10 AM before finishing the tournament Saturday evening against Jellico, Tennesse at 5:30 PM.Click Here for the ClayLive.com Photo Gallery

Clay County Tiger pitcher Justin Hobbs pitches to catcher John Wilson during the Tigers 2-0 loss to Cumberland in the Pather Classic at Knox Central Saturday. Hobbs pitched a three hitter, striking out 10. Wilson had the only hit for Clay County. Earlier in the day the Tigers came from behind to defeat Knox Central 13-8. Clay County Matt Burns scores another Tiger run. The Clay County Tiger baseball team will host Leslie County at William Campbell field Tuesday night after dropping a 5-4 game to Corbin Monday night. Corbin is the #1 ranked team in the 13th region. The 49th District draw will be held at North Laurel Thursday. The Clay County Tigers scored four runs in the last inning on a home run by Nick Gray and the second of two three run home runs by eighth grader Tanner Gilbert to pull out a come from behind 9-8 win at Lee County Saturday. The Tigers will travel to Oneida Baptist Monday and Pike Central on Tuesday before ending the regular season at home Thursday against Red Bird. The Clay County Tiger baseball team will travel to Pike Central Tuesday before ending the regular season at home with a 49th District matchup with Red Bird Thursday night. Clay County defeated Oneida Baptist 4-0 on the road Monday night behind the shutout pitching of Nick Gray. The Tigers will open tournament play Monday May 21 with a first round game with Jackson County. The game will be the first game of a doubleheader beginning at 5:30 PM at North Laurel.
