The South Laurel Lady Cardinals tennis team picked up two big road wins heading into regional tournament play by defeating both Clay County and Knox Central in match play this past week. Bowling, Dubbels and Harman represent Clay County in state tennis tournament Thursday
Eighth grader Britt Bowling of Clay County will open the state tennis championship at the Boone Center on the campus of the University Thursday morning at 8 AM in a match with Bennett Wilson of Daviess County. In girls double Morgan Dubbels and Rachel Harmon of Clay County will take on Kacey Cassady and Kistlyn Hudson of South Warren. The two boys singles players from Oneida Baptist got the toughest draw of the tournament as the #1 seed Sean Donohue of St. X will take on Jim Woo Jeong of Oneida at 8 AM Thursday. Barnabas Kim of Oneida will face the #2 seed Emerson Walsh of Trinity at 9:15 AM. In girls singles Anna Dadison of Oneida Baptist is matched with Risa Sonada of Paducah Tilghman at 8 AM Thursday. The OBI doubles team of Mianna Baker and Nirina Walters will take on Laura Irons and Catriona Shaughnessy of Norte Dame.
