thepatriot.ucumberlands.edu Striking a chord with Jonathan Carmack
With sounds of soul akin to Jason Mraz, a country twang of Hunter Hayes, and the passionate heart-filled lyrics of the Backstreet Boys, Jonathan Carmack is coming into his own as a singer/song writer. Kentucky’s Clay County native Carmack, is senior at the University of the Cumberlands studying religion and education. Outside of working with children in a classroom or ministering to them on a weekly basis, Carmack has used song writing as a way to put into words, the emotions going on in his everyday life. With music playing a key role in his life, he is gracing us with a musical talent that effortlessly strikes a chord in the hearts of his audience. He talked with me about his song writing history, where his passion stems from, and offers some sound advice on how to begin writing your own songs.
